Prior to pick up, staff removed borrowed pants from C1 to return to owner and informed C1’s parent to bring extra clothes for C1 at next drop off. C1 was wearing a shirt, diaper, and shoes at pick up. C1’s parent confirmed C1 had no extra clothes at the facility that day. All staff stated the weather was warm on the day of the incident and staff ensured C1 was comfortable at all times. Staff reported observing a biting incident that involved C1 and addressing the behavior immediately and reporting the incident to parents.
Four out of four parents who were interviewed stated, they receive a boo-boo or incident report when there’s an incident involving their child, but it is not repetitive or a result of uncorrected behavior. All parents stated they did not observe any child not dressed properly nor have they observed lack of supervision at the facility.
LPA’s review of records revealed that on the day of the incident, the weather is 85 degrees. A review of Boo-boo/incident reports does not show patterns of repetitive or uncorrected biting behaviors from any child in care. Based on records, biting incidents were witnessed by staff and immediately addressed.
Based on LPA’s observation, interviews conducted, and records reviewed, the Department determined that although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur, therefore the allegations are UNSUBSTANTIATED. |
