Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Samantha Yip and Jennifer Beehler conducted an unannounced Case Management- Licensee Initiated inspection. LPAs met with Director Jetalben Patel and explained the reason for the inspection. The purpose of this inspection is the center removed the pool in the outdoor activity area. A copy of the approved permit from the City of San Jose regarding the demolition of the pool was obtained during today's inspection.

Measurement of the outside activity area was conducted during today's inspection. The outdoor measurements are as followed:
(41.250 x 39.000 = 1, 608.75) + (72.333 x 80.083 = 5, 792.643) = 7,401.393 minus encumbered space 289.161 = 7, 112.232
TOTAL OUTDOOR SPACE: 7,112.232 divided by 75 = 94 children

The outdoor activity space is fenced. LPAs observed the center placed artificial turf where the pool was located. Fence around the existing pool is still up. There is area that is blocked off by cones. Director stated that they will be removing the fence. There is resilient material around play structures. LPAs observed the resilient material around the playground in the back area had divots, which could pose a tripping hazard. Director stated that they are going to fix the resilient material. Shaded rest area is provided through canopies and trees. There were no bodies of water observed during today's inspection.

An updated LIC 999: Yard was obtained during today's inspection to reflect that the pool was removed.

The center will submit the following:
- picture of the yard once the fence is removed
- resilient material below the back playstructure

No deficiencies were issued as a result of this inspection. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Director Jetalben Patel. A notice of site visit has been issued and must remain posted for 30 days.
