25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPAs) Mel Matos and Kaur met with Jetalben Patel, Licensee Representative/Director, for an unannounced case management inspection. Purpose of today's case management inspection: The Facility is requesting to add two infant children to the existing licensed capacity. The Facility is license to serve children ages 6 months to 24 months. There is also a preschool program on the same premises in the Toddler/Preschool & Preschool/Pre-K Classrooms. Hours of operation: 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
LPAs toured and measured the indoor areas of the Facility during today's inspection
INDOOR MEASUREMENTS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
Infant-Toddler Play Area (12.250 x 12.333 = 151.079) - Encumbered - (5.833 x 12.333 = 71.938)
Infant-Toddler Play Room (18.333 x 12.667 = 206.890) + (9.917 x 3.750= 37.188)
TOTAL INDOOR SPACE: 323.219 sq. ft. divided by 35 = 9 infant children
Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
There are adequate chairs, tables, cubbies, equipment, supplies, and toys for the children within the Facility. Director understands that walkers and items of similar nature are not permitted. LPAs observed appropriate changing tables that have raised sides (3 inches in height) and are within an arm's reach of a sink in each room. There is a separate sleeping (crib) area in the Infant-Toddler Play Area. Director understands that the children must be under direct visual supervision at all times. |
