25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Marilou Monico met with Site Director, Sarah Vazquez, and conducted a second Prelicensing Inspection. An initial Prelicensing Inspection was conducted on March 13, 2023. LPA returned to the facility today to verify if the items required on the initial inspection had been completed. LPA toured the facility and remeasured Room 3. LPA observed the following:
1) At least four feet sound proof partition separating the crib area from the activity area had been installed.
2) A total of six (6) cribs in the crib area.
3) Room 3 is fully set-up.
4) The climbing structure in Playground 1 had been removed.
5) There is a refrigerator and a microwave in Room 3.
Indoor measurements taken today:
Room 3: 39.833 x 15.000 = 597.495 minus 159.328 (encumbered space) = 438.167
TOTAL INFANT INDOOR SPACE = 438.167 sq. ft. divided by 35 = 12 children
During the inspection, LPA observed a school age child in the Director's Office near the bathroom. Sarah stated that the child is attending the Heritage Program. Sarah submitted proof of Heritage Program Registration and updated facility sketch dividing the Director's Office into two areas, Director's Office and Heritage Program Room. Sarah placed at least four feet partition in between the Director's Office and Heritage Program Room during the inspection. Sarah indicated that the partition will be up at all times during daycare hours. Sarah stated that she understands that the children in the Heritage Program cannot commingle with any other programs. Sarah indicated that the Heritage Program is mainly indoor and will not be using the playground.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Sarah Vazquez, Site Director. LPA advised Sarah that a license for 12 infants will be submitted to Licensing Management for the final stage of approval. |
