25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kate Huang conducted an announced Pre-licensing inspection today and met with applicant, Fan, Jiao. Applicant stated she and her husband are adults who are residing at the facility. Hours of operation will be Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM.
The Applicant filed this new application due to change of location. The Applicant completed the Preventative Health and Safety Child Care training on 03/13/2016. Pediatric CPR and First Aid training expires in March 2027. A copy of current TB test, flu, MMR, and Tdap vaccinations for the Applicant are on file. Mandated Reporter Training for Child Care Providers expires on 04/15/2027. The Applicant does not have liability insurance at this time but plans to have liability insurance before children are enrolled. Applicant was reminded that parents need to sign the Affidavit Regarding Liability Insurance for Family Child Care Home (LIC 282) until she obtains insurance coverage.
LPA toured the inside and outside of the home with Applicant. Applicant resides in a single story single family home. On limit areas include Living Room, one bedroom, and 1 bathroom. Off limit areas include two bedrooms, Kitchen, attached Garage and 1 bathroom. LPA observed gas shut off, water shut off and electric shut off areas. Applicant has submitted the facility sketch with all the required information. LPA observed a fully charged fire extinguisher (2A10BC), -smoke and carbon monoxide detector.Applicant was reminded that Cleaning Products, toxic agents, medications, and sharp objects should be inaccessible to children.
Applicant has play area for the children in the part of the backyard of the home and LPA observed barricaded gate around the play area. The home is clean, orderly, including heating and air conditioning, for safety & comfort. There is sufficient toys, supplies, and equipment for the day care children indoor and outdoor areas. All toys are age appropriate. During the visit, LPA observed two bouncers in the backyard. LPA reminded Applicant that smoking, baby walkers, Jumpers, bouncers and similar items are not allowed in Family Child Care Homes. The applicant immediately discarded two bouncers during the visit and stated they will not provide such toys to children in care.
