The outdoor measurements for the preschool program are as followed:
R1 Playground Preschool: 35.083 x 72.333 = 2,537.658
R2 Playground Preschool: 60.167 x 26.500 = 1, 594.425 minus encumbered space 118.063 = 1, 476.362
Total Outdoor Activity Space: 4, 014.02 divided by 75 = 53 children
Director stated that an updated LIC 200A will be submitted to reflect the change to the preschool capacity. LPA also informed Director that an updated fire clearance needs to be obtained.
The preschool program has 64 cubbies, 60 chairs, 9 tables, 5 toilets, and 5 sinks. There are toys and equipment for children. There is a fully charged fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector. Director stated that there are no weapons, such as firearms stored on the premise.
The toddler option has 25 chairs, 4 tables, 34 cubbies, 3 sinks, and two toilets. There is changing table, which is within areas reach of a sink. LPA discussed with Licensee and Director that the toddler component and preschool component cannot share a restroom. LPA observed at 11:25AM that a staff brought preschool children to the toddler restroom. There was a toddler and toddler staff in the restroom at the time. Licensee stated that the bathroom is only used when the children are outside. Director sent a note to staff that the toddler restroom cannot be used by the preschool program during today's inspection and stated that they will seize using the restroom. There is a separate restroom for the preschool program. There are toys and equipment for children.
The outdoor area is fenced. Shaded rest area is provided through canopies and trees. Areas around play equipment have resilient material to absorb falls. There were no bodies of water observed during today's inspection. LPA discussed with Director that any bucket that is filled with water needs to be dumped out.
