25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kate Huang met with licensee, Sun, Yuye for an unannounced annual inspection as well as licensee's capacity increase request. LPA explained the nature of today’s inspection to her. Present were the licensee, a helper who is licensee's sister-in-law, 3 infants & 3 preschoolers during today's inspection. Days and hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 6:00 pm. Since the licensee has operated the small family childcare home for more than 1 year, she is legible for applying large family child care home. The adults that reside in the home are licensee, her husband, her daughter, her husband's brother and sister-in-law.
LPA toured the indoor and outdoor areas of the home during today's inspection with the licensee. Required materials were observed to be posted, and the licensee moved them near the entrance immediately per LPA's request. LPA observed sufficient materials, toys, and play equipment for the day care children. The indoor and outdoor areas are all clean and orderly. All of toys and play equipment are age appropriate. The home has heating and ventilation for comfort of children.
The LPA observed that children were sleeping during nap time. Three infants were using cribs for sleep. During the observation, no loose blankets or objects were present in the cribs while the infants were sleeping.
LPA observed a fully charged fire extinguisher and working smoke/carbon monoxide detectors. The Licensee states that she does not have any weapons in the home. All detergents, cleaning compounds, poisons, medications, sharp objects and other similar items were observed to be stored inaccessible to children. Licensee understands that smoking is prohibited in the home.
The LPA observed that the licensee has a current CPR and First Aid certification, which will expire in September 2025, and the helper's CPR certification will expire on October 12, 2026. Additionally, the LPA observed that both the licensee and the helper have all required documents on file.
LPA observed a current roster of the children. LPA reviewed 5 children's files, including 3 infants. All required documents were present in the children’s files, including infant 15 minutes sleeping check logs for infant under 2 years old. The facility carries liability insurance. All the adults who reside here have TB test results. |
