25 | On August 01, 2024, at 10:00 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Doni Fici conducted an announced Pre-licensing inspection in response to a request for a change of location. LPA met with Gutierrez, Blanca, Applicant, and explained the nature of today’s visit. LPA notes that the Applicant is currently licensed at 440 WEST NINETH ST, Gilroy, CA 95020 (Facility number: 434416850).
The Applicant states that adults, over the age of 18, residing in the home is her daughter, son, and Nephew. The applicant has two (2) minors also residing in the home. LPA advised that children living in the home will be included in the home ratio and capacity until they turn 10 years of age. The hours of operation for the family child care home (FCCH) will be Monday - Saturday , 5:00 AM-6:00PM and the Applicant is planning to offer care for children ages four (4) months to 12 years old. The Applicant has submitted a rental agreement for the home and does currently have liability insurance for the day care. LPA advised the Applicant to provide parents with Affidavit Regarding Liability Insurance (LIC282) upon registration until liability insurance is purchased in the future.
The Applicant was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
LPA toured inside the home and observed sufficient materials and play equipment for day care children. The home is properly set-up for caring for infants including soft materials covering the floor, toys, small climbing structures, and a baby changing table. The home has a pool located in the backyard, which is fenced and locked during hours of operation. Off limits inside the home include: entire upstairs, bedroom 1, closet across from bedroom 1, closet underneath the stairs, the kitchen pantry, and garage.
