25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kate Huang conducted an announced Pre-licensing inspection today and met with applicant, Vargas Camacho, Maria. Applicant stated that she, her fiance, her cousin and and her friend are adults residing at the facility. Hours of operation will be Monday to Friday, 8:00AM to 5:30 PM.
The Applicant completed the Preventative Health and Safety Child Care training on 04/28/2023. Pediatric CPR and First Aid training expires in May, 2027. A copy of current TB test, flu, MMR, and Tdap vaccinations for the Applicant are on file. Mandated Reporter Training for Child Care Providers expires on 12/14/2027. The Applicant does not have liability insurance at this time but considers to have liability insurance before children are enrolled. Applicant was reminded that parents need to sign the Affidavit Regarding Liability Insurance for Family Child Care Home (LIC 282) until she obtains insurance coverage.
LPA toured the inside and outside of the home with Applicant. Applicant resides in a two-story single family home. On limit areas include one living room, one dining room, kitchen,and one bathroom. Off limit areas include the entire second floor and attached Garage. LPA observed gas shut off, water shut off and electric shut off areas. Applicant has submitted the facility sketch with all the required information. LPA observed three fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguishers and working smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
Applicant has play area for the children in the part of the backyard of the home. Based on the fire department’s fire safety inspection requirements, the LPA observed that the dead bushes along the side of the home had been removed. The home is clean, orderly, including heating and air conditioning, for safety & comfort. There are sufficient toys, supplies, and equipment for the day care children indoor and outdoor areas. All toys are age appropriate.
