25 | On 7/9/2024 at 10 am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Manel Estoesta conducted a Pre-Licensing Visit. LPA met with the Applicant SUSHMA KAMBHAM. Present on this visit were the Applicant’s two school age children. The home plans to operate from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 6 pm.
The home was toured to conduct a Health and Safety Inspection with the Applicant. The home is a one-story home. The home is neat and clean with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort.
The On-Limit Areas are the Living Room, Dining Room, Bedroom adjacent to the Garage (Napping Room), Kitchen, Hallway Bathroom and the Backyard. The Backyard will be a designated outdoor play area that is fully fenced. At 10:30 am, LPA observed child safety strap locks installed on the kitchen cabinets and drawers.
The Off-Limit Areas are the Garage, the Master Bedroom, Master Bathroom and the Bedroom adjacent to the Hallway Bathroom. LPA Estoesta reminded the Applicant that the Off-Limit Areas will be inaccessible to children in care by closed and or locked doors and or a fence/safety gate with visual supervision.
There are no pools, hot tubes, or any other bodies of water. LPA reminded the Applicant that all hazardous materials and toxins are kept out of reach from children and are not accessible. The designated isolation area is the Master Bedroom when a child gets sick in day care. The home has a fully charged fire extinguisher 3A40BC, smoke detector, carbon monoxide and mobille phone. As per the applicant, there are no firearms on the premises. There are napping equiment, ample age-appropriate toys, play equipment and materials that appear to be safe and in good condition. LPA did not observe pet/s in the home. The home does have a fireplace at the Living Room, LPA recommended the Applicant to have the fireplace inaccessible by the children by using a furniture to block it, and the Applicant understood. At 10:45 am, LPA observed an outdoor air conditioner unit at the backyard, LPA recommended to have a cover for the unit and the Applicant understood. LPA recommended to have a toddler step stool and potty-training seat cover for the home's toilet in the hallway bathroom, and the applicant understood.
