25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elizabeth Berumen met with Licensee, Maria Romero for an unannounced Required – 1 year annual inspection. LPA was granted access to the home by the Licensee. LPA observed 5 day-care children (3 infants and 2 pre-schoolers), Licensee's Assistant (Jasmine Ramirez) in the home during today's inspection. The Licensee was operating within their capacity and ratio requirements. LPA observed the required postings, including the facility license, near the day care area. Days and hours of operation are Monday - Friday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Licensee states that herself and her daughter (Alexandria Romero) are the only adults living in the home. Licensee has 13 year old son and foster daughter (17 years old). Foster daughter will be 18 in January 11, 2022. LPA informed her of adult living in the home requirements and that once foster daughter turns 18 she is to be fingerprinted.
LPA reviewed a current Child Care Facility Roster and Fire/Disaster drill log during today's inspection. The last fire/disaster drill was completed on December 6, 2021. Licensees has the required vaccinations (MMR, Tdap, & declined flu shot statement) and is current with the Mandated Reporter Training for Child Care Workers (expires 02/25/2022). The Licensees CPR and First Aid are current and expire in 01/23/2022. LPA reviewed staff file (Jasmine Ramirez) file is complete.
Safe sleep update: LPA discussed the new “Safe Sleep” regulations with the Licensee and provided a copy of the regulations, including the Individual Infant Sleeping Plan (LIC 9227) form to the Licensee. LPA reminded the Licensee that infants up to 12 months of age must sleep on their backs, shall be supervised while they are sleeping, and documentation of sleep checks must be kept in each infant’s file. Infants shall not be swaddled. There shall be one crib or play yard for each infant who is unable to climb out of the crib or play yard. Cribs or play yards shall be free of loose articles and objects. |
