25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elizabeth Berumen met with Licensee, Maria Romero for an unannounced Required – 1 year annual inspection. LPA was granted access to the home by the Licensee. LPA also observed seven day care children (1 infant, 6 preschool, in the home during today's inspection and assistant, Jasmine Ramirez. Licensee is operating within the capacity and ratio requirements of her license. LPA observed the required postings, including the facility license, near the main day care area of the home. Days and hours of operation are Monday - Friday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Maria states that herself, foster daughter (Yulissa Romero) are the only adults living in the home. Maria's daughter, Alexandria Romero resides in the home but is currently attending Fresno State University. Licensee has a 14 year old son who lives in the home.
LPA reviewed a current Child Care Facility Roster and Fire/Disaster drill log during today's inspection. The last fire/disaster drill was completed on 10/10/2022. Licensee has current CPR and First Aid certifications, expiring on 02/11/2024. Licensee has the required vaccines (MMR, Tdap), declines the influenza vaccine. Licensee is current with her Mandated Reporter Training for Child Care Workers. LPA reviewed seven children's files and the files were complete with the required forms and immunization records. Infant in care is missing the 15 minute sleep checks. Infant has the LIC9227 on file. LPA reviewed two staff files (Licensee and Assistant, Jasmine Ramirez) and the files were complete with the required forms and immunization records.
LPA toured the indoor and outdoor areas of the home during today's inspection. Licensees has a working telephone in the home. The home is clean, orderly, (including heating/ventilation), and safe for the day care children. There are safe & age appropriate toys, play equipment, and materials for the children in the home. LPA did not observe any wall heater units inside the home. Off limit areas in the home: garage, entire upstairs, downstairs bedroom.
LPA observed a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher, working smoke/carbon monoxide detectors, no bodies of water, and fenced backyard. LPA observed barricaded stairs. There is a fire place in day care room that is barricaded. Licensee states that she does not have any weapons or pets in the home. All detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other similar items are inaccessible to children. LPA reminded Licensee that poisons are to be locked. |
