32 | The licensee was reminded that children showing signs of illness should be separated from others until it is determined whether they are contagious. They must remain separated until they are no longer infectious or are picked up.
LPA toured the facility, indoor off-limit areas included all of the second floor, stairs were gated for children’s safety, garage, laundry room, and kitchen. .The licensee was providing care in a safe and comfortable environment, ensuring that children were treated appropriately and were free from any form of punishment or mistreatment. The home was clean, well ventilated, and has safe toys, play equipment and materials. A fully charged 3A-40B-C fire extinguisher, purchased on 11/24/24, is available, along with working smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and an operating telephone. All hazardous items, such as poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, and medicines were kept out of children’s reach. The home was free of any defects or dangers that could harm a child and the wall heater in the hallway was secured to prevent access by children. Licensee confirmed that there are no firearms, guns, or ammunition present, and smoking was prohibited. Additionally baby walkers, bouncers, jumpers, and similar items are not allowed.
Outdoor off limit areas include: all areas outside of deck; all yard area and storage shed. Licensee is aware that outdoor play areas must either be fenced or that outdoor play must be supervised by the licensee. The outdoor play area is fenced and has age-appropriate toys for the children such as; slides, big drive car, tonka trucks, and balls. The licensee was reminded to notify licensing before making any changes to the house or yard.
Licensee CPR/First Aid expired 9/15/26 with mandatory training expires 10/29/25. The preventative health certificate is on file. Assistants CPR/First Aid and Mandated Reporter certificates expiration dates listed in LIC859 Staff Records. LPA reminded the licensee of the two-year renewal requirement.
The facility roster and eight children’s files were reviewed, confirming all required forms were complete. Licensee has liability insurance coverage. The licensee does not transport children. Licensee was reminded that should license elect to transport children that licensed must have current license, that children cannot be left unattended in vehicles and that car seats and booster seats must be available for safe transportation.
