25 | On June 26, 2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Darnella Barnes conducted an unannounced Case Management Inspection in response to a request for an Increase in capacity. LPA met with Licensee Magda Ruvalcaba Perez, explained the purpose of the visit, and was granted full access to the home. Also present were the licensee’s husband and six preschoolers.
The licensee plans to operate a Large Family Child Care Home, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, serving children ages 2 yrs–17 years. Fire clearance was granted on May 27, 2025. Proof of control of property was verified.
LPA conducted a walk through of the indoor areas. Indoor off-limits areas include all of the upstairs living space and garage. Stairway is gated. The home was clean, safe, and well-ventilated, with appropriate toys and learning materials. LPA observed a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher last serviced 4/11/25, functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, a working phone, and a blocked fireplace.
The outdoor off-limits areas include a shed and a gated dog area. The outdoor area was securely fenced with play house and play tables.No bodies of water were present. Licensee understands smoking is not allowed, and licensee stated there are no firearms or ammunition.
Licensee will not be caring for children under 2 years; however, LPA did review safe sleep requirements, including nap checks and Individual Infant Sleeping Plans (LIC 9227), were reviewed. Use of prohibited infant equipment was discussed.Children showing signs of illness must be isolated until picked up.
