32 | Hortencia states that she will be the only adult, over the age of 18, residing in the home. Her mother (Maria) and her sister (Lizet) will additionally be assisting in the FCCH. There are no minor children living in the home. LPA reminded that any adults who live in the FCCH shall obtain criminal record clearance and obtain proof of negative tuberculosis (TB) test.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
Indoor areas of the home were inspected by the LPA today and observed to be clean, orderly, and safe for day care children. The living room #2 area is set-up for day care children and was observed to be equipped with blocks, dolls, dress up clothes, and shelves/tables. There are individual cubby spaces for children's personal items. Hortencia states that room #2 will be used for the infants/toddlers in care. There is a working phone (cellphone) inside of the FCCH. Hortencia states that there are no weapons in the home. Off-limits inside of the home include: attached garage, dining room, kitchen, living room, laundry room, master bedroom and master bathroom. Hortencia states that nap cots, cribs, and other play equipment will be brought to the FCCH once her old license has been closed. LPA advised submitting photos of room #2 once fully equipped and napping materials once they are brought to the FCCH.
The bathroom for day care children is clean, sanitary, and operable. There is a door that connects to the off-limits area of the home that Hortencia states will remain locked during day care hours. The bathroom is additionally equipped with a trash bin with a tight-fitting lid, two sinks, and a functioning toilet.
The backyard area of the home was inspected and observed to be fenced in. Hortencia states that the outdoor space will have a sandbox area and gardening area installed soon. Play equipment is to be added, including bikes, balls, water tables, balance beam, and other toys for children's use. LPA advised that because the surface of the outdoor area is concrete, to ensure that foam or other fall absorbing materials are added under play equipment as needed. Shade will additionally be added to the outdoor space. Off-limits outside of the home include detached shed. Parents will enter the FCCH through the side yard gate. |
