25 | On 09/22/2026, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elizabeth Larios met with licensee, Maria Romero Marin, for an unannounced case management inspection. LPA explained the purpose of today's visit to the licensee. The licensee was present with her husband, son, and assistant (daughter).The license reported a temporary closure from 09/21/2026 through 09/23/2026, and no children were present in care. Per the licensee, the adults residing in the home are herself, her husband, and two adult children.
The Department received a letter from the Care Provider Management Branch (CPMB), dated 09/16/2026, informing the Department that a criminal record exemption had been denied for Manuel Marin Romero. This individual may not work in or be present at any facility licensed by the Department. In addition, this individual may not reside in or be regularly present at a Family Child Care Home (FCCH) and must be immediately removed from the facility.
LPA read and explained, in Spanish the documents received from CPMB to the Licensee. The licensee confirmed that Manuel Marin Romero has not resided in the facility since 1/2/2026. The licensee completed, signed, and provided a Confirmation of Removal (LIC 300A). LPA also explained the Addendum to Notification of Parents' Rights (LIC 995B) to the Licensee. LPA conducted a tour of the facility to verify that Manuel Marin Romero no longer resides in the home. During the inspection, LPA did observe clothing, and personal belongings, and other items associated with Manuel Marin Romero. Licensee states she will remove Manuel's belongings.
The licensee requested that Manuel Marin Romero be removed from the facility roster. LPA provided the licensee with LIC 279 forms. The licensee completed, signed, and submitted the required documents to LPA during the visit.
