Furniture and equipment were in good condition and free of any sharp, loose, or pointed parts. All materials and surfaces accessible to children, including toys, were free of toxic substances. Play equipment and materials used by children were age-appropriate and in safe operating condition. There are 55 chairs, 12 tables, 70 cubbies, 24 cots, 13 mats, 5 sinks, 1 changing table and 4 toilets available for preschool and toddler children. Staff have a designated bathroom separate from the children’s restrooms, which may also be used for sick children if needed. Sick children will be isolated in the facility’s office area. First aid supplies, medications, and cleaning products are stored in the upper cabinets and locked areas, out of children’s reach. LPA observed containers with tight-fitting lids available for the disposal of solid waste and diapers. LPA observed fully charged fire extinguisher, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors at the facility. Storage areas for poisons shall be locked. LPA advised that Applicant maintains first-aid supplies in a location accessible to staff but inaccessible to children. LPA observed a changing table is within arm’s reach of a sink. Diapering sink is not used for meal preparation or dishwashing.

The Applicant shall submit a plan outlining the use of the toddler and preschool bathrooms to ensure there is no commingling between toddler and preschool children at any time. Applicant was reminded that a child who is between 18 months and 36 months of age may participate in the toddler program with written permission from the child's authorized representative. No child in the toddler program shall be placed in the preschool program before the age of 30 months without written permission from the child's authorized representative.
Snacks are prepared on site, and parents provide lunch for their children. The applicant was reminded that full-day programs must ensure each child has a lunch and that children must have access to drinking water at all times. Drinking water is readily available indoors through water pitchers filled from a filtered source, and children may bring their own water bottles outdoors. Sink faucets accessible to children provide only cold running water.
LPA observed the kitchen area to be clean and free of litter and rubbish. Kitchen is equipped with refrigerator and microwave. The applicant was advised that appropriate measures must be taken to keep the kitchen free of rodents and other vermin.
The outdoor areas for preschool and toddler children were observed to be free of hazards, including holes, broken glass, dry grasses, and other debris that could pose a fire or safety risk. The preschool outdoor activity space is physically separate from the toddler outdoor activity space. Shade is provided by trees,
