32 | Staff were unaware that the resident has diabetes and were not familiar with the resident's medication, diet and diabetes levels.
During the investigative process, seven staff persons, regional center staff and the resident (Resident 1) were interviewed. In addition, a walk-through of the facility was conducted whereas residents’ well-being was observed, and several records were reviewed. Various documents were obtained and reviewed to include Physicians Report, Conservator documents, Medication records, Physician’s Diet Letter, Assessment and Services document, list of staff names and a list of resident names.
Staff persons were interviewed and did indicate that they knew of the resident’s diabetes condition. However, on 08/29/22 medication records were reviewed, and it was determined that the staff had neglected to have the resident’s diabetic medication filled by the pharmacy; resident went without her diabetic medication for three dosages. Licensee was cited for this deficiency on 09/12/22, Complaint # 25-AS-20220408165349 and will not be cited again.
