32 | Six Staff (S1 – S6) were interviewed on 02/26/25 and 5/9/25 and denied the allegations stating that, no staff have screamed at children in care. S1 – S2, S4 – S6 stated that S6 has a naturally loud voice but that S6 does not scream at the children. Staff stated that there is adequate lighting in the facility and that the only time lights are off in the classroom is for transitioning to nap time and at nap time. Staff stated that S6 treats all children in care with dignity and respect and that S6 does not leave children to cry during drop off.
Three children (C2 – C4 ) were interviewed on 02/26/25 and denied the allegations that Staff screamed at day care children and Staff are not providing adequate lighting for day care children, stating that no staff have screamed at the children in care and that the class room is only dark during nap time. C2 – C4 had no knowledge of the allegation that Staff are not treating day care children with dignity and respect.
Six parents (P1 – P6) were interviewed on 4/25/25 , 5/1/25 5/6/25 and P1 – P2, P4 – P5 denied the allegation that Staff screamed at day care children, stating that P1 – P2 and P4 - P5 have never observed S6 scream at day care children. P3 confirmed the allegation stating that P3 has heard S6 scream at day care children and that S6 could be heard from outside the facility. P1 – P2, P4 – P5 denied the allegation that Staff are not providing adequate lighting for day care children, stating that there are no concerns about the lighting in the facility. P3 confirmed the allegation stating that the facility does not provide adequate lighting, and it is a safety concern. P1, and P4 – P6 denied the allegation that staff are not treating day care children with dignity and respect, stating that S6 does console children during drop off in the morning and provides care that affords children dignity and respect. P2 and P3 confirmed the allegation stating that S6 does not console the children while they are crying during drop off and has made negative comments towards children that are crying during drop off that does not give the children dignity and respect.
During today’s inspection, the facility was toured LPA observed 63 children in care.
Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of the evidence to prove that the alleged violation occurred, and the findings are unsubstantiated.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the facility representative CIndy Littlepage. Appeal rights were provided. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
