On 5/19/2023 at 11:45 AM, an annual inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPAs), J. Helton and J. Gifford. Shasta College ECE Center and operates in classrooms 1 and 2 in building 3200 on the Shasta College campus. Operation hours are 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday–Friday. The facility was toured at 12:00 PM, inside and outside and the floor and yard plan submitted by the licensee were verified. The director was not supervising any children due to graduation had just ended and all children left for the day. There are no pools or bodies of water on the premises. The playground is age appropriate and safe with pea gravel for cushion. 6 children's records were reviewed at 12:15 PM. 2 staff records were reviewed at 12:02 PM.

The director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. The following deficiencies were cited, Type B violation for failure to complete water lead testing no later than January 1, 2023. (see LIC 809D):

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.

Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Director Beverly Charsha.
