On 1/5/2024, at 2:15PM, an unannounced inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Friese and Cunningham. It has been alleged the licensee allowed inappropriate form of discipline; specifically, the licensee placed Child 1 in timeout in the entryway which was dark at the time.

The licensee and two staff (Staff 1-3), were interviewed on 10/24/23 and 12/7/23, and stated children are never placed in a dark area for timeout. The licensee stated lights are always on in the daycare area. LPA attempted to interview Child 1 on 10/26/23 but was unable to qualify Child 1. Two children were interviewed on 10/24/23, Child 2 stated children sit down at a table during time-out and Child 3 stated when kids get in trouble, they must stop what they are doing. Four parents were interviewed on 12/13/23 and stated the home has adequate lighting and they have not observed children in timeout in a dark area.

Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of the evidence to prove that the alleged violation occurred, and the findings are unsubstantiated.

Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the assistant. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Appeal rights were provided. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
