25 | On 5/3/2023 at 9:30 AM, an annual inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPAs), Pearl DiGenova and Erica Laird. At 10:00 AM the home was toured inside and outside. The licensee and two assistants were supervising 12 children, and operating within the licensed capacity and ratio requirements. The facility’s operating hours are 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday–Friday. The floor plan submitted by the licensee was reviewed and verified. The off-limits areas of the home are the living room, family room, 3 bedrooms, and were made inaccessible by door lock. The children use the play yard as the outdoor play area and it is fully fenced. There is a swim spa in the back yard. The spa is covered with a locked cover.
5 children's records were reviewed at 10:10 AM. 3 staff records were reviewed at 10:15 AM.
There are currently 2 adults living in the home. The Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. |
