25 | A Required-1 Year inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Melchisedeck Augustin. The facility file was reviewed prior to this visit. The facility is currently on Inactive Status until 02/22/23 and the facility requested for the license status to be changed to Licensed, and there are currently zero children enrolled into care. The Cenger Director stated that the Vallejo Unified School District ensured that all school district personnel received an approved criminal record clearance prior to working at the center. Center Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. The infant/toddler program is operated on the premise of the Federal Terrace Elementary School campus by the Vallejo Unified School District and at this time, the facility intends to operate the toddler program and then progress into operation of the infant program. This center is operated by a public agency and is a Title 5 funded program.
The facility’s operating hours are 7:00am - 5:30pm, Monday-Friday. The facility was toured inside and outside and the floor and yard plan submitted by the licensee were verified. The items which could pose a danger to children (such as detergents, cleaning compounds and medications) were observed to be inaccessible to children. LPA did not observe any poisons. The facility was free of flies, insects and rodents. The toys, floors, desks and other equipment and surfaces are clean, toxic free, safe and in good condition. Center Director stated the facility provided bottled drinking water which were poured in cups for the children to drink while they were indoors and outdoors. The children's bathrooms are in safe and sanitary condition. The infant changing tables have at least 3" sides and sanitary vinyl pads that are at least 1" thick. There were three toilets and three sinks for washing hands which appeared to be in safe and sanitary operating condition. The facility did not have any cribs setup, however; Center Director confirmed the facility had additional cribs in storage. There were 16 cots available for children that are unable to climb out of a crib. A current menu and Activity schedule were posted near the front entrance. (Continue to LIC 809-C) |
