25 | Licensing Program Analyst ( LPA) Elpidia Hernandez Torres arrived to the home to conduct a case management visit to further discuss an incident that allegedly occurred during nap time involving a day care child and licensee's assistant.
Licensee self reported there was a child that was allegedly being rubbed on their back during nap time, and child was scared. LPA interviewed licensee, licensee's assistant and reviewed evidence that revealed there was a child who was standing up on their matt in the nap room, when licensee's assistant was sitting on the floor talking to the child about the child's blanket showing child the blanket was soft and could be used as a pillow for nap time. Then assistant showed child 'the little mermaid' on their phone to comfort child. Child laid down in their blanket on the matt and assistant sat leaning against the wall looking at their phone. When assistant thought child was napping they got up to leave the room, then the child got up and asked to go with assistant to living room. When the child was standing up they fell on one knee and assistant helped the child get back up, then got the child's blanket and nap matt to take to the living room with the older children.
There was no evidence showing the assistant rubbing, or patting the child's back. The evidence reviewed did not show any day care child upset or crying in the nap room during nap time.
There were no Title 22 deficiencies observed at this time. Notice of site visit was issued and must be posted for 30 days. |
