25 | An annual inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elpidia Hernandez Torres. A review of staff records on 11/20/2023 indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. There are currently two adults living in the home. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
During today’s inspection the home and grounds were toured. The licensee and assistant were supervising three day care children, and operating within the licensed capacity and ratio requirements. No children were observed left in any parked vehicle. The facility’s operating hours are 12:00AM- 11:59PM, Sunday- Saturday. The floor plan submitted by the licensee was reviewed and verified. The off-limits areas of the home are all four bedrooms, the garage, and the backyard. They were made inaccessible by child safety gates and door locking mechanisms. The home was at a comfortable indoor temperature. There were safe toys and equipment available for children. There is a working telephone in the home. The licensee has current pediatric CPR and First Aid certification, which expire in 2024. Licensee wasn't able to produce AB1207 for herself or assistant type B deficiency was issued. Items which could pose a danger to children (detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, etc.) were stored out of the reach of children. Poisons are locked with a key or combination lock. The fireplace has been made inaccessible with a screen. There is a working smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and fire extinguisher, rated at least 2A10BC, in the home. The licensee stated there are no firearms and/or other dangerous weapons in the home, and none were observed during today's inspection. The children don't use the back yard as outdoor play area. There were no pools or other bodies of water observed in the yard |
