25 | An unannounced annual/random inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Cindy Castro. LPA met with Maira Posada, Licensee (L1). There are two adults living in the home. L1 was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Childcare Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
During the inspection the home was toured inside and outside. The licensee (L1) and Staff (S1) were supervising four children. The facility’s operating hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM-5:30 PM. The floor plan submitted by the licensee was reviewed and verified. The children will have access to two bedrooms, living room, one hallway bathroom, and backyard. The "off limits" areas include one bedroom, bathroom in master room, storage room, and sections of the backyard are off limits to the children. These areas have been made inaccessible by means of door locking mechanisms and wrought iron fencing. The home is clean and orderly at this time and will remain so during childcare hours. The backyard is the outdoor play area, it is fully fenced. There were no pools or other bodies of water observed on the premises. There were safe toys and equipment available for children. There is a working telephone in the home. Items which could pose a danger to children (such as detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, etc.) were observed to be stored out of the reach of children. Licensee stated that poisons are located on the side storage of home with a key lock. LPA observed a working smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and fire extinguisher, rated at least 2A10BC, in the home. The roster of children in care was reviewed and was current. Last emergency drill conducted and documented was on 05/01/25. The licensee stated there are no firearms or other dangerous weapons in the home and none were observed during today's inspection. Four child records were reviewed and complete. Licensee’s CPR/First Aid expires on 03/16/2026. Licensee’s mandated reporter expired on 09/24/24 (Continue to LIC 809-C).
