32 | Licensee and staff (S1, S2) denied the allegation, all stating they have never yelled at day care children and have never heard staff yell at day care children. Licensee stated she does not take her stress out on the children and that she remains calm and speaks to the child. If the child is having a tantrum, she lets it play out and if she can soothe them, she does that and talks to them. S1 stated that If a child is feeling stress or having a tantrum, they direct the child to take a five minute break to calm down. S2 stated if a child is upset, they will move them to another part of the room and get on their level and ask them what is wrong.
Interviews with parents (P1-P5, P7, P8) did not provide any corroborating information to support the allegation. Parent (P6) stated their child told them that staff have yelled at them, specifically the Licensee. Children interviews (C1-C7) did not provide any corroborating information to support the allegation. During the LPA’s visits to the facility on 06/18/2026 and 08/13/26, the LPA did not observe any evidence of personal rights violations or any children being yelled at by a staff member.
Based on the information gathered during this investigation, although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove that the allegations occurred and therefore are determined to be unsubstantiated. There were no Title 22 deficiencies cited. This report was reviewed and discussed with Licensee Latasha Curtis. Appeal rights were provided. Notice of site visit shall be posted for 30 days from today's visit. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. |
