25 | An annual required inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), James Clark. LPA met with Licensee, Anicia Rojas. A review of staff records indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. There are currently two adults living in the home.
During the inspection the home was toured inside and outside. The licensee was supervising five children and operating within the licensed capacity and ratio requirements. The facility’s operating hours are Monday - Friday 7:30AM - 5:30PM. The floor plan submitted by the licensee was reviewed and verified. The on-limits area of the home is the living room, family room, kitchen, dining room, one bedroom, playroom, hallway bathroom and backward play area. The off-limits areas of the home are the two bedrooms, one bathroom, the storage closet and laundry room which housed the water heater in the garage, and a closet located in the hallway, and backyard pool with a five foot locked gated fence, were made inaccessible by means of plastic slip-on doorknob covers, latches and children’s safety gates and alarms. The facility did not have staircase but two steps to the play room area. The Licensee stated she did not utilize the fireplace during the facility’s hours of operation. The home appears to be clean and orderly and was at a comfortable indoor temperature. There were safe toys and equipment available for children. There is a working telephone in the home. The licensee’s pediatric CPR and First Aid certifications were reviewed and expire on 02/2028 and Mandated Reporter expires on 10/2026. Items which could pose a danger to children (such as detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, etc.) were observed to be stored out of the reach of children.
