LPA did hear the voice of a staff present in the main classroom. C1 was not provided with visual supervision while putting their shoes in the Movement room.
LPA continued to make observations in the main classroom between 9:47am and 10:19am. LPA observed children enter the bathroom which is located within the main classroom without a teacher moving into position to provide visual supervision on more than one occasion. At 10:07am LPA observed child (C6) enter into the hallway beyond a movable gate to retrieve an item from a backpack. Although staff were present in the main classroom, staff did not provide visual supervision of C6 while in the backpack area.
Sign in/out records were reviewed and in compliance. Items which could pose a danger to children (such as detergents, cleaning compounds and medications) were observed to be inaccessible to children. L1 stated there are no poisons in the facility, and none were observed during this inspection. LPA observed the toys, floors, desks and other equipment and surfaces are clean, toxic free, safe, and in good condition. There is uncontaminated drinking water available to children indoors and outdoors by use of individually labelled water cups. The children's bathrooms are in safe and sanitary condition. The center’s isolation area for any child who becomes ill while in care is located in the entry way. LPA observed food prep areas are clean. Food is properly stored and refrigerated as needed. There was no contaminated food observed. Garbage cans containing solid waste have tight fitting lids. Menus are posted in the entry of the school. There is a working smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and fire extinguishers that appeared to be charged in the facility. LPA observed the playground equipment and surface areas were in safe condition.
There is wood chip cushioning underneath climbing structures to absorb falls. There were no bodies of water observed on the site. L1 stated no weapons are stored on site, and none were observed.
During today's inspection, staffing ratios were being met, a total of 16 preschool children were being supervised by two teachers. The facility was operating within the licensed capacity and ratio requirements. All staff members present during the inspection possessed current CPR and First Aid certifications, L1’s certificate expires 09/2026.
Five children’s records were reviewed and contained complete and current information as required. Three staff files were reviewed and contained all records as required.
