25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Glenn Ouye met with applicant, Aishwarya Kancharia and Dan Turner. The entity is Ammamma Tati, Inc which is a California Corporation.
LPA arrived to conduct a prelicensing visit and capacity determination of this school age child care center.. The interior and exterior activity areas were inspected and measured.
The interior consists of the main classroom, and 2 smaller classrooms and a kitchen which will be used for care. There is one toilet and two hand washing sinks. The interior square footage supports the requirement for the application capacity. A capacity determination worksheet will be on file. The smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested and functional. There is a fire extinguisher rated at 3A40BC which exceeds the regulated standard. There is sufficient furniture, equipment, toys and activities for the children.
The outdoor area was also measured and inspected. The outdoor area is fenced and has two shade sails to provide adequate shade for the children. The children will use personalized water bottles for hydration. There is also an outdoor hand washing station with two sinks for the children. There is currently insufficient fall protection material, however the applicant will bring in more bark to provide adequate fall protection. The outdoor activity space square footage supports the requirement to meet the application capacity.
The applicant is currently working with the City of Cotati and a licensed contractor to have fire sprinklers installed in the child care center building. LPA will continue with the application review and will work with the applicant to finalize licensure after the fire suppression system has been in stalled. Aside from the fire inspection, the physical plant is ready for licensure. |
