First Aid supplies will be maintained at the facility. The children in care will have access to age appropriate toys and equipment. The home is equipped with a working smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and a fire extinguisher rated at least 2-A10:BC. Children will use the backyard for outdoor play. The home's backyard is fully fenced. Portions of the yard that are not used for child care are fenced and gated, to include the side yard and the garden. The doors to the homes basement, located in the backyard are locked with a padlock. In addition to the main home, children will have access to a detached building labelled, “School Room” on the facility sketch. There is no spa, pool, pond, or fountain on the premises. None shall be added without prior approval of the Licensing agency. The applicant has current Mandated Reporter training, which expires 12/2026, and is to be renewed every two years.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPA offered to review the LIC 311D, Forms/Records to Keep In Your Family Child Care Homes, children’s forms/records, facility forms/records, and information to be posted with applicant. Applicant stated a review was not necessary and that she feels comfortable with the paperwork requirements. Entrance Checklist was provided to the applicant.
Parents will be required to sign insurance affidavits if the provider does not plan to purchase additional child care liability insurance. Parent's rights are posted. Emergency drills must be conducted at least once every six months and the date documented. The roster is to remain current at all times.
Unusual Incident Report procedures were explained, to include notification before close of next business day and follow-up with written report within seven days. The licensee will maintain current pediatric CPR, First Aid, and child abuse mandated reporter training certifications. The licensee shall be present in the home and shall ensure that children in care are supervised by a fingerprinted adult with current pediatric CPR and First Aid certification. The licensee understands that children may only be transported by adults with a criminal record clearance and are never to be left unattended in a vehicle.
