Licensing Program Analyst Willis arrived unannounced to deliver findings regarding the above-mentioned complaint allegation and met with Executive Director, Tracey Mease and Resident Services Director, Tru Coiner.
Insufficient staffing – During investigation, LPA reviewed documents and conducted interviews. Complaint alleges that facility had an instance where they did not have any staff in one of the memory care units. Documents provided by the facility showed that there was no staff in Memory Care 1 from approximately 6:00am until approximately 7:00am on the morning of March 13, 2021. Facility was unable to provide additional evidence showing that there was staff in the Memory Care 1 during that timeframe.
Based on evidence provided, the allegation that facility had Insufficient staffing is Substantiated. A finding that the complaint is substantiated means that the allegation is valid because the preponderance of the evidence standard has been met. Immediate civil penalty of $1000 assessed as this is a repeat violation of same subsection within the past 12 months.
Deficiencies cited from the California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 6 of California Regulation. Appeal rights given. Failure to correct the deficiency and/or repeat deficiencies within a 12 month period may result in civil penalties.
