25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Willis conducted a Pre-Licensing inspection with Executive Director Tracey Mease. Visit was conducted remotely to observe Covid-19 precautions.
During an inspection conducted April 16, 2021, LPA Willis and Regional Manager, Carla Nuti-Martinez observed an additional building being built on the premises. Discussion with Administrator revealed that another Memory Care Unit was being built. CCL staff notified the Administrator that building materials were observed accessible to residents and are a potential hazard. Another potential hazard that was observed and brought to the attention of the Administrator was a fountain that had water pooling at the base. The Administrator agreed to put rocks in the bottom of the fountain to mitigate the risk and notified LPA that a barrier was being put up around the construction site to make the area inaccessible.
Per correspondence dated April 27, 2021 and conversation conducted today, the barrier is currently being constructed and Administrator is unsure when it will completed. Until the carrier can be completed, Administrator will put up signs notifying resident to keep out of the area at the site as well as in the dining area and other high traffic areas. Residents with cognitive decline who may not be able to abide by the signs are in an area that is inaccessible to the construction site, per Administrator.
Due to limitations in the facility Wi-Fi, LPA was unable to observe the fountain or construction site but has requested pictures of both areas as well as the signs.
No deficiencies cited during this inspection.
