25 | On 1/29/24 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Joseph Pacheco conducted an unannounced case management inspection. LPA met with Assistant Director (AD), Alexandria Candelario. LPA explained the reason for the inspection and toured the
facility inside and outside. Facility is currently licensed for 42 preschool children. Licensee has submitted paperwork to apply for the toddler option component with a capacity of 9 toddler children and 33 preschool children. The facility currently operates its preschool component in classrooms 9, 10 and 12. Facility has proposed to convert Classroom 9 into a toddler option classroom. The toddler option children would use the same outdoor space as the preschool children but at separate times pending the approval of a waiver by the Fresno Regional Office. Currently facility does not have enough toilets and sinks to meet the requirements of having both a preschool component and toddler option component due to both components having to be conducted areas that are physically separate. Facility currently meets the toilet and sink requirements for having only a preschool component with a capacity of 42.
Room measurements in all three classrooms were taken and reviewed with AD. The total inside preschool area of all three classrooms measured to an approximate 1,408 square feet which will only accommodate up to 40 preschool children. AD stated that Licensee will be applying for a capacity decrease from 42 to 40 preschool children. Classroom 9 (proposed toddler option classroom) measured to an approximate 308 square feet which would accommodate up to 8 toddler option children. Classroom 10 and 12 measured to an approximate 1100 square feet which would accommodate up to 31 preschool children. The outside square footage measured to an approximate 12,795 square feet which is more than adequate.
Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1, of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies are cited.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Assistant Director, Alexandria Candelario.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
