32 | Staff does not ensure clients needs are being met in a timely manner- Based on records review, observation, interviews with staff, clients and witnesses. Records reviewed shows that residents have a Functional Capability Assessment for each client in care. Interviews with staff, clients, witness and observation the clients needs are being met in a timely manner. The facility staff does have a dog that comingles with clients in care and has a Physical Plant Policy for Prestige Care Center and Prestige Care Center 11. The policy states the following Pets owned by the consumers will not be permitted. Pets are allowed to visit the residents at the facility. The pet may not be left alone at the facility. The pet will weigh no more than 80 lbs. The visitor must provide the pet’s shot records, per license, and the residents be agreeable for the visitation of the pet. The pet’s owner or person bringing the pet for visitation is responsible for feeding and cleaning up after the pet. Pets causing a disturbance at the facility are not allowed.
Based on interviews with staff and, records review and observation. The lack of evidence or preponderance of evidence standards has not been met; therefore, the above allegation(s) is found to be UNSUBSTANTIATED.
Staff person engages in verbal altercations in the presence of residents-
Based on interviews with staff, clients and witnesses. LPA Lund did a record review of the facility and there were no reports of verbal altercations in the presence of residents. Staff had individual training on clients’ rights and floor orientation with clients in care. LPA Lund interviewed three of four clients in care, and they stated that they have never witnessed staff have verbal altercations between staff and staff.
