25 | On 08/23/2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Valentin Hernandez and Licensing Program Manager Cynthia Brannon, conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection for the preschool license. LPA met with Director, Jennifer Renteria, and Assistant Director, Danielle Lopez and toured the facility indoors and outdoors. Background criminal record clearances are verified and discussed, and LIS 531 is signed indicating that the adults providing care and supervision to children have a criminal record clearance. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:00AM-6:00PM.
There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises. There are no firearms or ammunition allowed. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. Bleach wipes were observed during the inspection under the sink in one of the classrooms; items were removed immediately by director.
Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. Playground equipment is in safe condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. The outside equipment was not free from spider webs, wooden picnic tables included cracks, and the climbing equipment included a loose screw. During today’s inspection, the spider webs were removed, and the loose screw was tightened. The crack in the picnic table is not jagged and is smooth. The crack is large enough for a child’s finger. During the inspection, children were not sitting at this picnic table. All toilets and handwashing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating condition. During today’s inspection, LPA reviewed with director the requirement that the children’s restrooms are not used for storage. Floors in the facility are clean and safe. Storage pantry areas are clean, free of litter/rubbish and free of rodents/vermin. All food is protected against contamination and any contaminated food is discarded immediately. Solid waste storage containers have tight-fitting covers and are in good repair. Drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors. Children bring their own cups and will refill their cups as needed. Areas around high climbing equipment, swings and slides have cushioning material to absorb falls. The facility is free of flies, insects and rodents. Facility has one or more functioning carbon monoxide detectors that meet statutory requirements.
