During today’s inspection, LPA observed the following: In the classrooms 2 and 3, there are air vents near the floor. These air vents draw in the cold air. The AC vents are located on the ceiling. In the classrooms, LPA observed child size tents in different shapes. LPA recommended licensee to remove these tents to ensure visual observation of children at all times. In classrooms #3 and #4, gates have been installed and barricaded the smaller areas that have sinks. Per licensee, staff will allow the children into the area as needed and under adult supervision. Children will use the sinks to wash their hands and refill their water bottles as needed. In the toddler classroom #4, there are six old fashion windows that do not have screens and are difficult to open and close. These windows open from the middle horizontally and out. LPA discussed that when windows are opened, flies and vermin should not be able to enter the classroom. Per licensee, the windows will remain close. Per licensee, this classroom will utilize the AC unit to provide fresh air as needed into the classroom. Each classroom has an area for cubbies and cots. Licensee is utilizing small plastic bins for children’s belongings. There are several buildings that line the fenced area. These buildings are for church purposes. Per licensee, the church is aware that during preschool hours, no one is allowed to be in the buildings. One large building is the gymnasium that is used by other local schools and preschool is closed when the gymnasium is being used.
