On 10/16/2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Yesenia Fierro conducted an unannounced complaint inspection. LPA met with Director Katie Bonzi, took a census and explained the allegation.
During the course of this investigation, LPA conducted interviews with staff, conducted observations and collected pertinent information.

In regards, to the allegation that, staff do not ensure daycare center is free of insects. Interview conducted with Director Bonzi revealed that the Director personally has observed died cockroaches in the facility. LPA observations of empty classrooms revealed dead cockroaches’ underneath furnishings.
Based upon LPA's observations, and information gathered through interviews, the preponderance of evidence standard has been met, therefore the above allegation is found to be SUBSTANTIATED.

Director Katie Bonzi stated the facility will continue to actively work on resolving the issue. Facility will continue their contract with pest control who are scheduled for pest maintenance once a month and also their cleaning contract with Greenworks Janitorial who conducts

evidenced by: Based on interviews and observations the facility has an issue with cockroaches. This poses a potential risk to the health, safety, or personal rights of children.

cleaning of the facility once a week.
Director Katie Bonzi will develop a daily cleaning schedule of classrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and staff lounge and have the facility sprayed inside for insects. Director will submit proof to CCLD by POC 10/31/2025.
