25 | On 04/24/2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Valerie Mireles conducted an unannounced Annual Random Inspection and was met by licensees Shannon Miller and Carolyn Peel. Days and hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 7:30AM-5:00PM.
LPA toured the home inside, outside and a census was taken. This is a two-story home and there are two child safety gates on each side of the hallway at the base of the stairs to prevent children from accessing stairs and second story of the home. LPA reviewed current facility sketch and confirmed that the day care room, kitchen, two dining rooms, downstairs bathroom and backyard are used for providing care and are accessible to children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by locked doors. Safe toys and play equipment are observed: there are plenty of age-appropriate learning materials, puzzles, books, toys, child-sized play kitchen, table, chairs, and a television. Licensee ensures that children in care are supervised at all times. There is one fireplace in the home located in the living room, which is off limits, and is made inaccessible by a locked glass door and will not be in use during daycare hours. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. Licensee reported that there are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible.
The outdoor play area in the backyard is fenced and there are no hazards to children present. There are three Little Tikes play structures, a covered sand pit, and tricycles for children to use during outdoor activities. There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises.
