25 | On 06/17/2021, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Luisa Gavoutian conducted an unannounced Plan of Correction visit. LPA was greeted by Licensee Zeny Abalos, who accompanied LPA on a tour of the home, inside and outside. Also present was a fingerprint-cleared adult member of the household. Present during today's inspection were 11 children. The purpose of today's inspection was to clear the deficiencies that were cited during the annual inspection on 06/09/2021.
On 06/09/2021, the facility was cited a Type A deficiency in violation of California Code of Regulations (CCR) section 102416.3(a)(6) which states, "Prior to making alterations... the licensee shall notify the Department of the proposed changed... Any change from an area of the family child care home previously identified as "off limits" to an area where care and supervision will be provided to children in care." On 06/09/2021, LPA had observed a storage area being constructed outside and the master bedroom was accessible to daycare children. During today's inspection, LPA observed the construction of the storage area had been completed and the master bedroom was made inaccessible to children with a lock. LPA inspected the storage area and found it to be safe and free of hazards. No hazardous items were accessible to children. Additionally, Licensee submitted a written statement of understanding to Community Care Licensing (CCL) that any alterations to the existing buildings and grounds and any "off-limits" areas that will be used for childcare must be reported to CCL prior to the changes being made. This deficiency has been cleared.
On 06/09/2021, the facility was cited a Type B deficiency in violation of Health and Safety Code (HSC) section 1596.8662(b)(1) which states, "On or before March 30, 2018, a person who, on January 1, 2018, is a licensed child care provider, administrator, or employee of a licensed child day care facility shall complete the mandated reporter training... and shall complete renewal mandated reporter training every two years following the date on which he or she completed the initial mandated reporter training."
