25 | On 03/04/2026, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Valerie Mireles conducted an unannounced Annual Random Inspection and was met by licensee Carmen Tapia. Days and hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 5:00AM-5:00PM.
This is a two-story home and stairs are gated when children under age 5 years old are present. LPA toured the home inside, outside and a census was taken. LPA reviewed current facility sketch and confirmed that the children will have access to the guest living room, kitchen, naproom, guest bathroom, and family living room. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by by door knob spinners and child safety gates. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. LPA observed toys, games, books, colorful rugs, child-sized furniture, a mounted television and educational posters on walls for the children. The fireplace located in the family living room and is made inaccessible by a wooden covering and will not be in use during daycare hours. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. Licensee reported that there are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible.
Licensee ensures that children in care are supervised at all times. The outdoor play area in the backyard is fenced and there are no hazards to children present. There is an in-ground pool that is fenced with a 5-foot mesh fence, in accordance with Title 22 Regulations. The swimming pool is drained and not currently in use. The pool gate is self-latching, self-closing and opens away from the swimming pool. No windows or doors have direct access to the pool area. Licensee was advised that effective 01/01/2025, all childcare facilities licensed by Community Care Licensing (CCL) by law are required to adhere to AB2866 - The Pool Safety Act. According to Health & Safety Code 1596.814, additional safety features will be required, which are listed in AB2866.
