On 07/09/2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Valerie Mireles conducted an unannounced Annual Random Inspection and was met by co-licensee Codee Watts. LPA toured the home inside ,outside and a census was taken. There were seven children present at the time of the inspection. Summer hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00AM-12:00PM and during the academic school year, the hours of operation will be Monday through Friday from 7:30AM-4:00PM.

LPA reviewed current facility sketch and confirmed that the living room, children's bedrooms, dining room, kitchen, hallway restroom, and the backyard are used for providing care and are accessible to children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by locked doors. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. LPA observed child size furniture, table, chairs, learning wall art, a mounted television, and safe games, toys and books for the children. All firearms and ammunition are stored and locked separately. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. There are no fireplaces or open face heaters in the home. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. Licensee conducts required fire safety drills every six months with the most recent fire safety drill being conducted on 04/26/2024. This is a single level home and there are no stairs.

Licensees ensure that children in care are supervised at all times and is aware children shall not be left in parked vehicles. The outdoor play area in the backyard is fenced and there are no hazards to children present. LPA observed a playhouse, tricycles, caged chicken coop, swingset and climbing structure. There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises. Capacity as specified on the license is being maintained. LPA reviewed a sample of children’s files and observed files were complete with emergency information as required. Licensee’s Mandated Reporter Training was completed on 05/22/2024. Licensee’s pediatric CPR/First Aid certification expires on 07/15/2024 and is scheduled for 07/13/2024 for renewal. LPA also informed co-licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
