25 | On 4/28/26, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Priscilla Zamudio conducted an unannounced Case Management-incident inspection. LPA met with Licensee, Patricia Johnson, toured the Family Child Care Home (FCCH) and a census was taken. Also present during the visit was licensee's assistant and four children.
The purpose of today’s inspection was regarding an Unusual Incident report that was submitted to the Fresno Child Care Regional Office on 3/31/26. On 3/26/26, Child #1 was let out of the play area by child#2 and went into the room where a household member was ironing and when they left the room, child#1 made contact with the top corner of the iron. Per licensee, the top of child#1's left wrist/palm area had a 1-2 inch fine line/burn on it, with no skin tear. Licensee applied ice, Neosporin and a gauze. Licensee also contacted child#1 parents and they decided not to take child to doctor or ER. Licensee stated that Child#2, had behavioral issues and she asked the parent to seek alternative child care. Licensee also stated that she has reminded household members to keep all room doors closed if “doing anything that could harm another child”.
This appears to be an isolated incident and Licensee took appropriate measures to address Child #1's injury, following appropriate policies, regulations, and reporting requirements.
Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies are cited.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Licensee, Patricia Johnson.
This report shall be made available to the public upon request. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
