25 | On 10/3/2022 at 9:20am, a Required-1 Year inspection was made by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Laura Chavez.to the facility in conjunction with the licensee's request for an increase in capacity to 14. A fire inspection approval was received on 9/19/2022. At 9:45am the home was toured inside and outside. The licensee was supervising one child, and operating within the licensed capacity and ratio requirements. The facility’s operating hours are 4am-6pm, Monday–Friday. The floor plan submitted by the licensee was reviewed and verified. The off-limits areas of the home are the four bedrooms and master bathroom, and were made inaccessible by locks. The children use the park located across the home as well as the back yard as the outdoor play areas. The backyard is completely fenced. There were no pools or other bodies of water observed in the yard. Five children's records were reviewed at 10:02pm.
There are currently four adults living in the home. The Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee Norma Madrigal and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep web page at: https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee [facility representative] of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. |
