32 | Licensee stated there are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. All poisons are stored in locked areas; none were observed. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other hazardous items are made inaccessible.
There is one fireplace located in the living room. It is made inaccessible with a metal screen and glass door and is not used during daycare hours. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, and adequate heating and ventilation.
This is a single-level home with no stairs. Safe toys and play equipment were observed. The home has working telephone service, and LPA confirmed the phone number.
Licensee ensures children are supervised at all times and understands children must not be left in parked vehicles. The backyard outdoor play area is fenced, and no hazards were observed. Capacity limitations specified on the license are being maintained.
LPA reviewed a sample of children’s files and observed complete records containing required emergency information. Licensee’s Mandated Reporter Training is valid through 09/03/2027. Licensee’s pediatric CPR/First Aid certification is valid through 03/29/2027. A records review indicates all employees and volunteers have immunization records for influenza, pertussis, and measles.
LPA discussed the Community Care Licensing website at www.ccld.ca.gov, which provides access to forms, regulations, Provider Information Notices (PINs), and quarterly updates. LPA reviewed Reporting Requirements per Section 102416.2.
Licensee was reminded that all adults age 18 and over living or working in the home, including volunteers, must have a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer an existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in the facility (HSC 1596.871). Failure to comply will result in a civil penalty of a minimum of $100.00 per day for up to 5 days, or up to 30 days for repeat violations, per person.
LPA reviewed safe sleep regulations and provided the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage: https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep. LPA also advised the licensee to check infant device recalls on the CPSC website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended registering infant devices with CPSC for recall notifications.
