25 | On 8/17/2023, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Theresa Marquez and Meche Rosales conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and was met by licensee Mirna McWilliams. Also present was assistant Kaitlyn Aldrete.Licensee is Spanish speaking. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM. This is a single level home and there are no stairs. Safe toys and play equipment are observed.
LPAs toured the home inside and outside and a census was taken. Current facility sketch reviewed, and Licensee confirmed the family room, bedrooms #1, #2, #3, the dining/kitchen area, and hall bathroom are used for providing care and are accessible to day care children. All other rooms are off-limits and are made inaccessible by use of spinner knobs.
There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. There are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible.
The outdoor play area in the backyard is fenced and there are no hazards to children present. There is a built-in swimming pool in the backyard which is fenced and made inaccessible. The pool gate is self-latching, self-closing and opens away from the swimming pool. No windows or doors have direct access to the pool area.
LPA reviewed a sample of children’s files and observed files were complete with emergency information as required. Licensee’s Mandated Reporter Training was completed on 8/15/2023. Licensee’s pediatric CPR/First Aid certification expires on 9/3/2024. A review of records indicates that licensee and her assistant have immunization records on file for influenza, pertussis and measles.
