On 1/4/2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Ocegueda conducted a case management inspection with licensee. The purpose of the inspection was to consult about observations and questions licensee had about children in care. Today, LPA toured the facility and took a census.

Licensee had questions about a non-verbal preschool aged child that she received into care and was worried about neighbors complaining due to the child screaming very loudly as his/her way of communicating. LPA reminded licensee to ensure to maintain child’s medical privacy and the requirement to meet the child's emotional and daily needs. LPA encouraged licensee to continue to collaborate with the parent/guardian to help ensure needs of the child could be met by licensee.

LPA also discussed the following regulation: 102359 (a) Advertisements and License Number (a) Licensees shall reveal each facility license number in all advertisements, publications, or announcements made with the intent to attract clients.

Today, LPA observed an advertisement sign outside but did not have a license number. Licensee stated she would add the license number to the advertisement in accordance to the regulation.

During an interview with child #5, he/she stated that multiple children jump on a trampoline at the same time. LPA discussed safety with licensee and although the trampoline might have been approved for care at pre-licensing, it should be used as intended with only one child at a time for maximum safety. LPA cautioned that trampolines were considered a high-risk activity due to the potential of fall injury and thus required adequate supervision at all times. Licensee stated she has a lock that she uses so children do not freely go inside the trampoline.

An exit interview was conducted with licensee. Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3 of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies were cited today. Notice of Site Visit is provided and is to be posted for 30 days.
