25 | On 1/9/24, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Norma Lomeli conducted a capacity increase inspection from a Small Family Child Care Home to a Large Family Child Care Home. Present at time of inspection was Spanish-speaking licensee, her assistant and seven day care children who were napping. Licensee, her two adult daughters and one minor child reside in the home. Verified licensee's CPR and First Aid was completed through Pediatric Plus with Emergency Medical Services Authority stickers (EMSA) and expires on 2/10/24. Licensee’s Assistant, Eleni Hernandez has not completed the training, licensee understands that her assistant will not be left alone with the day care children. Background criminal record clearances are verified and discussed, and LIS 531 is signed indicating that the adults living in the home and/or providing care and supervision to children have a criminal record clearance. Fire clearance was granted on 12/14/23.
A tour of the home, inside and outside, as shown on the facility sketch, was conducted and the following was discussed and/or observed:
- Fire clearance was received on 12/26/23. Fire pull alarm is located in the day care room on the left hand side wall.
- During today's inspection, licensee informed LPA that she would like to utilize the modified converted garage room (day care room) for the day care children. Licensee provided LPA with City of Visalia Building Safety Division Permit document for the garage conversion. Per STD850 documentation, the room was inspected by Visalia Fire Department Inspector and inspection was granted for the following rooms; converted garage including bathroom, main home's kitchen and dining room. LPA observed in the day care room; a wall air conditioner/heater unit, a smoke detector, a carbon monoxide alarm and a 2A10BC fire
