25 | On 9/22/23, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Norma Lomeli conducted a capacity increase inspection from a Small Family Child Care Home to a Large Family Child Care Home. Present at time of inspection was licensee and one day care child. Licensee, her husband and three minor children reside in the home. Verified licensee’s CPR and First Aid was completed through Pediatric Plus with Emergency Medical Services Authority stickers (EMSA) and expires on 10/9/23. Licensee’s Assistant, Eliana Gonzalez completed the training through Pediatric Plus with Emergency Medical Services Authority stickers (EMSA) and expires on 4/1/25. Background criminal record clearances are verified and discussed, and LIS 531 is signed indicating that the adults living in the home and/or providing care and supervision to children have a criminal record clearance. Fire clearance was granted on 9/5/23.
A tour of the home, inside and outside, as shown on the facility sketch, was conducted and the following was discussed and/or observed:
- Fire clearance was received on 9/7/23. Licensee states that fire inspector did not require for her to install a fire pull alarm.
- During today’s inspection, LPA inspected the converted garage (day care room), that has an air conditioning system/heater wall unit, a smoke detector, a carbon monoxide alarm and a 2A10BC fire extinguisher. LPA also observed children size furniture, safe toys, books and a flat screen television mounted onto the wall. There is a play yard, cots and mats for napping. Licensee understands that since she did not obtain city permits for the room, she must not use the converted garage room for napping children. Licensee states that fire marshal has inspected the room. Licensee states that the day care entrance will be through the right-hand side run of the home. Facility sketch (LIC999A) has been updated.
