25 | On 2/5/2025, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Norma Lomeli and Jose Ruiz conducted a capacity increase inspection from a Small Family Child Care Home to a Large Family Child Care Home. Present at time of inspection was Spanish-speaking Licensee, Guadalupe Penuelas who is operating her family child care home but does not have any children in care during inspection. Licensee, her husband, her adult daughter and two minor children reside in the home. Verified licensee’s and Licensee’s Assistant, Ubaldo Penuelas, completed Pediatric CPR and First Aid training through American Red Cross and expires on 9/25/2025. Background criminal record clearances are verified and discussed, and LIS 531 is signed indicating that the adults living in the home and/or providing care and supervision to children have a criminal record clearance. Fire clearance was granted on 12/17/2024.
A tour of the home, inside and outside, as shown on the facility sketch, was conducted and the following was discussed and/or observed:
- Fire clearance was received on 12/17/2024. Fire pull alarm is located on the kitchen wall.
- LPAs observed children size furniture, safe toys, a flat screen television mounted on day-care room wall, arts/craft and books for the children. There is a parent’s board that is located on the left wall of the day care room’s entry way.
- Licensee states she does not have weapons, firearms or ammunition. Poisons are stored inside a wooden shed under key lock that is located in the backyard.
- Facility has 2A10BC fire extinguisher mounted onto the kitchen wall below the fire pull alarm. There is a functioning carbon monoxide alarm, working smoke alarm and first aid kit in place.
